The Bionaire Germ Reducing HEPA-Type Air Purifier with UV Technology and Permanent Air Filter uses a 3-stage system to help purify the air that passes through the filter. First, the air passes through a washable prefilter that captures hair and other large particles. The air then passes through the HEPA-Type Permanent Air Filter, filtering up to 99% of allergens as small as 2 microns, including ragweed pollen, grass pollen, tree pollen, household dust, dust mite debris, mold spores, and pet dander. Finally, the air is sanitized through ultraviolet light and PCO (photocatalytic oxidation) to reduce germs, viruses, bacteria, and fungi, and help remove VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from your home, leaving only crisp and fresh air behind.
